about

Album: In Search of Intelligent Life

A guitar-based song about the nature of human existence.
According to my understanding of the scientific study of human origin, there are ancient proto-human species which are known only through footprints made millions of years ago.
In all that time the only thing we have found out for sure is that things are what they are, and will probably continue to be so until we are no more.

lyrics

Lyrics
many long years have come and gone since monkey evolved to man
but when all is said and done it’s just footprints in the sand
all we want is some happiness, wealth and health and liberty
now I don’t know more than I’ve been told
but the streets ‘round here ain’t paved with gold

the farmer ploughs the stubborn soil growing dust and weeds and stones
the miner sweats in a deep dark hole ‘til the fumes corrode his bones
the governor sips a fine red wine, while the refugee drinks a brew of tears
now I don’t know more than I’ve been told
but the streets ‘round here ain’t paved with gold

some spend their lives in grace and ease, some live their lives in pain
some might wait for the sun to shine, some pray for the falling rain
some think their lives are happy, some say their lives are oh-so-sad
now I don’t know more than I’ve been told
but the streets ‘round here ain’t paved with gold
